[It wasn't that the Rito village was small by any means. It was where majority of the Ritos resided in after all. There was a closeness that they all shared though. Everyone helped each other and the village flourished that way. Stories and songs were shared; warriors were birds of a feather. One was never alone in the village.
To some, Kass may had been considered a bit negligent as a father. He spent good chunks of his time away from the village, but it worked with his family. His wife stayed back in the village and was a warrior at heart. He took to the skies to bring back new stories and songs (and he helped a lot with trading). He then shared what he brought back and spent every waking moment with his family.
Settling down and settling down were two very different things apparently. It was a tragedy among the entire village when they lost one of their brothers or sisters from misfortune. Kass had never expected to receive word to return to the village at once. Never was it considered that he would return to the tears of his children and the loss of his love. Settling down was much different that being grounded and feeling as though his wings had been clipped.
Readjusting his life had been a bit of a struggle, but he grew into it.
He's early to rise to start the day. Admiring the small, sleeping forms of his daughters before getting a meal cooked and ready before they awaken. Once they've awoken and had their meal; he watches them run off to play and do as they please. They're young and have plenty of time before life becomes more serious.
It's why he's currently sitting at a dock and watching his fellows fly through the air. It wasn't that he was a poor warrior. He was well versed in hunting and he could hold his own, but he was ill suited like his fellows. Having spent time away has made him a bit estranged to join them in the air. They're much more agile than he is, so he sits and admires them.]
